Central Institute of Education (CIE), now known also as the Department of Education of the University of Delhi, is going to conduct the Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) entrance test June 2016. Candidates who applied for this entrance test have to know the DU B.El.Ed. Entrance Test Syllabus and Exam Pattern. by knowing the pattern, it is easy for candidates to study according to the syllabus.
Recently many candidates have applied for this exam and waiting for eligible list. Candidates those who have shortlisted for giving the B.El.Ed. Entrance Test, their names will be displayed on the university website on June 2016. Here in this page we are discussing about the DU B.El.Ed. Entrance Test Pattern and Syllabus go through it.
Before starting your preparation, candidates need to know the Syllabus and model paper of written exam from the below details. The previous year question papers and last year papers will be available from the university website.
Delhi University B.El.Ed. Entrance Test Syllabus and Exam Pattern
DU B.El.Ed. Entrance Test Syllabus & Exam Pattern:
Questions in the B.El.Ed. Entrance Test 2016 will be asked from the topics given below. The paper will be of multiple choice type questions.
Reasoning – 20 marks
Bilingual Language Comprehension – 30 marks
Subject Knowledge (Science upto Class X) – 30 marks
Subject Knowledge (Social Sciences upto Class X) – 30 marks
Subject Knowledge (Mathematics upto Class X) – 30 marks
Cut Off marks of B.El.Ed. Entrance Exam 2016
Candidates who have appeared in the B.El.Ed. Entrance Exam can check the cut off marks from the official website of Delhi University on the same day of Results of B.El.Ed. Entrance Exam. The results may be declared July 2016.
- Entrance Test
There will be a minimum internal cut-off for each of the sections A (i) and A (ii). All sections and their parts are compulsory.
The Written Entrance Test will be of 3 hours duration. It will consist of two sections A and B of Multiple Choice Questions.
Part (i): Questions will be based on comprehension and the ability to use language in different contexts. Candidates are required to attempt both English and Hindi questions.
Part (ii): Questions will be application based and those that entail thinking, reasoning and problem solving in mathematics. Candidates can choose to answer in Hindi or in English.
Part (i) Questions will be based on reasoning and application of concepts in Science upto Class X. Candidates can choose to answer in Hindi or in English.
Part (ii) Questions will be based on interpretation of concepts in Social Sciences upto Class X.
Candidates can choose to answer in Hindi or in English.
- Class XII marks weightage
Weightage will be given to the marks obtained in (the same four subjects as per the eligibility conditions) Class XII examinations.
All admissions to the B.El.Ed. Programme will be done on the basis of the Scheme of CEE. The Merit List will be prepared on the basis of performance of candidates in the Entrance Test and their weightage of Class XII marks. Separate merit lists will be prepared for the respective categories i.e. general category and reserved categories as per the norms of the University of Delhi.
The Merit List of the candidates declared as eligible for centralised counseling will be displayed July 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at the Department of Education (CIE), University of Delhi and on its website http://cie.du.ac.in The candidates will be short-listed for centralized counselling on the basis of their rank in the merit list.
The short listed candidates will be required to register in person for the first centralised counselling session on dates below at the Department of Education (CIE), University of Delhi.
- a) July 2016 : PwD, C/WAP, CC and General Category candidates
- b) July 2016 : SC, ST and OBC Category candidates
Candidates must note the time for registration and counselling session from the list displayed on the website and at the Department of Education, University of Delhi. Candidates must carry their Admit Card, Original Certificates and Marksheets along with their photocopies at the time of Counselling. The Counselling Session will include representatives of all the colleges.
The candidate will be called for counselling in order of merit and shall be offered a seat based on the criteria given below. The criteria for allocation of a college will be based on:
- i) Candidate’s rank in the merit list.
- ii) Candidate’s preference for the college.
iii) Availability of seats in each college.
While making their choice of the college, candidates should consider its distance from their residence as well as the Liberal option courses being offered therein.
A second round of centralised counselling (in case of any vacancy) will be held on July 2016.
Note: No separate individual intimation will be sent to the candidates regarding any round of counselling.
The candidate who fails to appear in person on the notified date and time for centralized counselling at the Department of Education, University of Delhi shall not be allowed for any subsequent counselling sessions and will forfeit her claim for a seat.
