Eligibility Criterion for B. El. Ed Entrance Exam
Candidates seeking admission to the Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) programme must have passed the Class XII examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any other Board recognised as equivalent to the CBSE.
All candidates are required to select four subjects in the following manner:
(i) One from List A and three from List B
(ii) One from List A, two from List B and one from List C
- English 2. Hindi
Any other subject in List A, offered by CBSE, or its equivalent board at 10+ 2 level)
Business Studies or Accountancy
Any other subject (other than that mentioned in List A and B) in class XII offered by CBSE or its equivalent Board.
General candidates require at least 50% marks in each of the four subjects (chosen from List A – C) and aggregate of minimum 55% in the same four subjects.
OBC candidates will have a relaxation of 10%. They will require 45% (10% relaxation of 50%) in each of the four subjects chosen and an aggregate of 49.5% (10% relaxation of 55%) in the same four subjects.
SC/ST Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination (XIIth standard), i.e. of CBSE or any other Board recognized as equivalent to the CBSE.
Christian Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination (XIIth standard), i.e. of CBSE or any other Board recognized as equivalent to the CBSE.
PWD candidates will have a relaxation of 5% in the class XIIth Exam. They will require 47.5% (5% relaxation of 50%) in each of the four subjects chosen and an aggregate of 52.25% (5% relaxation of 55%) in the same four subjects.
C/WAP candidates will have a relaxation of 5% in the class XIIth Exam. They will require 47.5% (5% relaxation of 50%) in each of the four subjects chosen and an aggregate of 52.25% (5% relaxation of 55%) in the same four subjects.
Note: Candidates whose results are awaited or those who have to re-appear in the current year will not be considered. Not more than two languages will be considered for the purpose of eligibility from List A and B together. For example, if you have chosen English under List A, you could choose Hindi from List B. Similarly, if you have chosen Hindi under List A, you could choose English from List B
(B) Candidate should have completed 17 years of age on or before October 01, 2017.
Important points for B.El.Ed Exams
It’s that time of the year when you must be rushing towards grabbing a seat in Delhi University for Bachelor of Elementary Education Entrance Exam.
The exam is scheduled to be held in June-July 2017 and will decide that who will be able to make it to the reputed university offering around 380 seats to the aspirants.
As the forms are out, we are sure that the following tips might of a greater help to all of you:
Point 1: Admit Cards: The Admit Cards for the entrance exams along with the roll number and test center are emailed 3 days before the entrance exam to the candidates. The information is also available on the website (www.cie.du.ac.in).
Point 2: Exam Details: The Entrance exam will be held in June 2016. The duration of the exam would be 3 hours. The students have to reach the center by 1:30pm sharp. The candidates must occupy their allotted seats before the scheduled time for the Test.
Point 3: What to carry along: The candidates are to write the exam with black ball point pen only. Therefore, it is advised to carry atleast TWO BLACK BALL POINT PENS along. You are not allowed to carry any textual material and gadgets inside the examination room.
Point 4: Attendance: As soon as you occupy the seats, do mark your attendance in the attendance sheet provided by the invigilator.
Point 5: Attempting the Paper: All the sections (A & B) of the paper are to be attempted. Both the sections & their parts are necessary.
Point 6: Answer Sheet: Do not give away the answer sheet to the invigilator without writing your name and roll number on it. The rough work is required to be done in the space provided for it and not anywhere else.
Point 7: Carefully attempt the paper: Be sure of the answer before making it your choice because a question cannot have two choices and if by mistake any question has been marked with two choices, it would be considered wrong.
